Carpenter ants can thrive in damp or moist areas throughout your structure. Carpenter ant infestation requires careful attention to avoid structural damage that can result from their tunneling in our homes. Carpenter ants don’t eat wood for its nutritional value; they merely use it for shelter purposes.
You may see wood tunnels, fine wood dust or you may not see damaged wood at all. Damaged wood may appear crushed, flaky or tunneled in infested areas which are cause for concern.
